I was exposed two nights in a row for approximately 3 hours each night. I currently have an unrelated respiratory infection…does this increase my chances of being affected?
Is their any way that I can get checked for symptoms of mesothelioma or other such asbestos related diseases this soon after exposure? If necessary i'd like to start treatment as soon as possible. Thanks
you are now at risk for the cancer, but there is no test yet approved by the FDA to screen for predisposition to cancer. You just need to be aware of the risk, and make sure the doctor knows, but don't worry about it, cause there is nothing you can do at this point. That exposure is not too extreme anyway, only for 6 hours? I don't know all the facts on exposure times, but from other studies I have read on other cancers it is usually much longer than that to have a significant effect.
Mesothelioma usually comes from long-term exposure to asbestos. Still, you can talk to your doctor just so you feel better. Just make sure you also equip yourself with the right knowledge. That way, you can avoid future exposure from this unhealthy substance.

um. well mesothelioma usually comes from long term exposure, not just 2 nights. u will be just fine.
