We live in a semi-detached that was built in 1961. my neighbor (that shares a wall) just renovated his basement. Contractors have to be trained to handle asbestos. part of the training includes wetting down any asbestos to reduce the amount of fibers released. Vacuum the floors with a hepa vac and dust your wood work with a wet product like pledge, and wash the windows.
